Module 3 defines the Air Boss role itself: a certificated individual holding an FAA Letter of Authorization who serves as the single authority for airspace decisions during a performance. It covers the chain of command between the Air Boss, the Inspector in Charge, and the Responsible Person; the Primary Air Boss designation when multiple qualified Air Bosses are on site; the four core competencies (situational awareness, communication authority, decisive judgment, and standard phraseology); aircraft categories and their performance envelopes; a priority ladder for conflicting duties; and the ABRP requirements for earning and renewing the BAB credential.
