Two case studies anchor this module. The first covers the Laredo, TX A-20G Havoc accident (Feb 16, 2025, N747HS, NTSB case CEN25LA097), examined here as an air boss decision-making case while the NTSB investigation remains open and findings preliminary. The second revisits Wings Over Dallas (Nov 12, 2022), now closed out with the NTSB’s final report, AIR-24-07 (case CEN23MA034, published Dec 9, 2024), including the probable cause and the official NTSB animation of the collision.

The module works through a shared causal-factor framework across both cases: pilot error, communication gaps, airspace incursion, and ground ops conflict, then asks what an air boss could have changed in the moment.

Air Boss 102 is the ICAS Air Boss Recognition Program (ABRP) recurrency course for current Basic Air Boss (BAB), Standard Air Boss (SAB), Recognized Air Boss / Single Venue (RAB/SV), and Recognized Air Boss / Multiple Venue (RAB/MV) Letter of Authorization holders. It satisfies the recurrency topics required under ABRP Manual Section 11(a)(vi).
